Russia’s Nuclear Security Policy: Priorities and Potential Areas for Cooperation

Invitation Only

The year 2014 marked a turning point in US-Russian cooperation on the security and minimization of nuclear materials.  In October, Moscow announced that it would not participate in the preparatory work for the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit. In December, longstanding US-Russian cooperation on threat reduction also ceased.  These developments, while not unexpected, came as a surprise to US policymakers and experts.

At the event, Mr. Anton Khlopkov will introduce an upcoming policy analysis brief for the Stanley Center that discusses Russia’s vision of the priorities in the fissile materials security and possible avenues for future US-Russian and multilateral cooperation.
