2024 IBMV Edited Volume Dissemination Planning Meeting
Invitation Only
For two years, the Violence, Inequality and Power Lab (VIP Lab, formerly Impact:Peace) at the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice and the Stanley Center for Peace and Security have led an exploration of the concept of Identity-Based Mass Violence (IBMV) in urban contexts. As a next step, we are publishing an edited volume focused on articulating the conceptual case and offering practical guidance for investing in the prevention of identity-based mass violence at the city level. The Identity-Based Mass Violence and Cities: Edited Volume editorial team and volume contributors will gather together around the following three goals:
- To build on and maintain the momentum of the work and our collective established thus far, and to provide all contributors and collaborators with an opportunity to read and reflect on the volume’s contents prior to publication.
- To prepare to disseminate and launch the book worldwide. Together, we will strategize and develop context and regionally-specific ideas and plans for effectively releasing the volume to our target audiences.
- To discuss and consider where we go from here. With the finalization of the edited volume, how should the overarching agenda for IBMV progress?
