Together Possible: How Domestic Alliances for Climate Action Can Accelerate the Low-Carbon Transition

This event will showcase the catalytic role that domestic alliances of companies, local and subnational governments, academia, and civil society are beginning to play in accelerating climate action and championing opportunities for higher ambition that directly address domestic development needs.
Representatives from the private sector, local government, academia, and civil society from nascent domestic multistakeholder alliances will address why growing the base of climate action at the domestic level is needed, what role national diverse coalitions can play to support NDC implementation and enhancement, and how a growing number of these coalitions are joining forces through the global network known as Alliances for Climate Action (ACA) to build the global groundswell of climate action.
In addition, representatives of these coalitions and other key speakers will discuss the role that domestic multistakeholder coalitions can play to strengthen the global climate agenda and directly contribute to the push for accelerated action and increased ambition in 2019 and 2020.
