The Future of Global Climate Action in the UNFCCC

This virtual meeting, hosted in conjunction with Galvanizing the Groundswell of Climate Actions, will serve as an opportunity to discuss questions about how the UNFCCC process should engage with the “groundswell” of climate action post-2020 and how to work together to create an effective outcome.

We have begun gathering thoughts on these questions from a wide range of individuals who have been involved in climate action since 2014. This meeting will serve as an opportunity for us to discuss these further as a group. It will bring together individuals close to the process to begin exchanging ideas and brainstorming ways forward. The meeting’s objectives are:

• Allow those who have not yet responded to the survey to contribute ideas
• Reflect on our ideas collectively
• Begin to brainstorm ideas for the post-2020 period

To ensure a high degree of trust, the virtual meeting will be limited to those who have worked on these issues in the past.
