Investments in Urban Violence Reduction
Invitation Only
This invite-only meeting brings together a dozen donors from the complementary fields of peacebuilding, urban planning, violence prevention, and economic development for a discussion on the funding landscape for violence reduction and peacebuilding. A few mayors are invited to provide their perspectives on how best to support local-government efforts to reduce violence. The discussion will be guided by the following questions:
- What evidence exists to inform effective practice in preventing urban violence?
- How can we leverage our knowledge on the barriers for collaboration–particularly among actors and funders in the urban, peacebuilding, violence reduction, justice, and economic development spaces–to transform the landscape in favor of more impact and investment-oriented partnerships?
- How can we foster collaboration and innovation to overcome barriers and continue to seek and support innovative solutions?
- What kinds of collaborations, information, or resource-sharing would be useful when considering violence reduction?
