Briefing and Roundtable Discussion: The Peace Impacts of Renewable Energy
Invitation Only
As the world undertakes the energy transition in response to climate change, changing energy systems can provide new opportunities for peacebuilding policies and practices. Whether it is mediation around access to energy and resources or the geopolitics of energy security, the fields of climate, energy, and peace have only begun to consider how renewable energy can act as a catalyst for peace and change the contexts of conflict around them. Based on a workshop held in June, “Workshop: Renewable Energy and Peace. Bringing together policies and practices,” we will provide a briefing on the conclusions and recommendations of the workshop for how to materialize a renewable energy and peace agenda over the next year.
