Bridging ASEAN’s Energy and Climate Goals: Collaborative Strategies for Net-Zero Emissions
Invitation Only
The energy and climate nexus is a critical element of the ASEAN energy transition, as highlighted in the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC). This invitation-only workshop will gather stakeholders from government bodies, research institutes, development partners, and international organizations to integrate climate change perspectives and foster a shared vision for renewable energy and net-zero emissions in Southeast Asia. The discussions will emphasize regional collaboration and cooperation on policy, technology, and investments.
The objectives of this workshop are:
- Foster Regional Cooperation: Establish a shared vision for renewable energy and net-zero emissions in Southeast Asia, focusing on collaboration in policy, technology, and investments.
- Leverage Tools and Data: Introduce the Global Mitigation Potential Atlas and other models developed by the convening organizations to identify opportunities for enhanced mitigation efforts, aligned with Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term low-emission development strategies.
- Outline Actionable Policies: Develop a roadmap of policy interventions to accelerate renewable energy adoption, and identify areas for future research, collaboration, and resource mobilization.
