April 9-11, 2024 | Panama City, Panama | Mass Violence and Atrocities
2024 Cúcuta Forum Regional Workshop
Invitation Only; Registration Required
La Coordinadora Regional de Investigaciones Económicas y Sociales (CRIES) and the Stanley Center for Peace and Security, co-organizers of the Latin American and Caribbean Civil Society Forum for the Prevention of Mass Atrocities (Cúcuta Forum), have appreciated connecting with forum members remotely and in person, striving to provide a place where members of civil society organizations and academics could discuss shared challenges and innovations and share their expertise. Unfortunately, we continue to observe human rights abuses, threats to civic spaces, and chronic violence across the region. However, we also know members of the Cúcuta Forum are well placed to understand and address the challenges.
With these experiences in mind, we are looking forward to the opportunity to gather in person. We will discuss themes related to indigenous populations, technological innovation, and resilience and disinformation, among others, and how these topics intersect with identity and violence prevention. Building on past sessions, we will also continue to explore the consolidation of the Cúcuta Forum and how we can strengthen future collaboration and leadership across the group.
