Designing the Belém-Antalya Mechanism for Just Transition
Invitation Only
Just Transition has evolved from guiding principles into an increasingly concrete agenda within the UNFCCC. At COP30 in Brazil, agreement was reached on a set of principles and a commitment to develop a mechanism for implementing just transition—shifting the central challenge from whether to advance Just Transition to how to operationalize it effectively.
An informal conversation on the functions, features, and modalities of the just transition mechanism, this dialogue aims to provide additional space for discussion on what is needed ahead of formal meetings in Bonn and at COP31. Building on the trust developed in this community over the course of 2025, there is an excellent opportunity to once again gather on the sidelines of the first climate week of 2026 to help ensure productive conversations moving forward.
Participants will include representatives from countries, civil society, and experts on the Just Transition field.
