Alliances for Climate Action Day at COP27

The Stanley Center and WWF will host a day of public events at COP27, built around the Alliances for Climate Action (ACA). The ACA effort—which strengthens the implementation of the Paris Agreement by forming non-state and subnational climate action networks in key countries—brings the value and importance of demonstrated climate ambition and action to important international moments, such as the annual UN Climate Conference. They buoy ambition, demonstrate to countries how they can go further in their commitments, and apply pressure on them to do just that. Their presence and engagement is particularly crucial at inflection points of raising ambition and will be vital as the climate ecosystem looks at how to transition to the first implementation phase of the Paris Agreement since Glasgow.
