Jennifer Smyser is vice president and director of policy programming strategy at the Stanley Center for Peace and Security, where she leads the center’s efforts to catalyze action and drive impact on strategic policy goals. Smyser joined the center in 2006 as a program officer, initially responsible for outreach to citizen leaders and then overseeing the nuclear policy programming. Prior to that, she spent a decade working at US-based nongovernmental organizations focused on global engagement and citizen diplomacy. Throughout her career, Smyser has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations and is currently on the Steering Committee of the Peace and Security Funders Group. Smyser has an MA in public administration from Drake University and a BA in political science and international studies from Iowa State University.
