Peace in Our Cities Peace Incentive Fund Webinar: Peace Initiative Network in Kano, Nigeria, and the Center for SDGs in Hargeisa, Somaliland
Registration Required
Our Peace Incentive Fund (PIF) virtual series continues on May 20 from 11:00 AM– 12:30 PM EDT (UTC-4), featuring recipients from two PIF initiatives: the City of Kano, Nigeria, and the City of Hargeisa, Somalia (Somaliland). Through the first project in Kano, Nigeria, the Peace Incentive Fund supported the first ever co-created violence prevention effort by the Peace Initiative Network and the Kano Emirate Council. It provided program participants with a sense of community ownership and partnership, bringing together city officials, community and religious leaders, women’s groups, and youth. During the second project in Hargeisa, Somaliland, the Peace Incentive Fund supported previously ad-hoc work by the Somaliland Center for Sustainable Development Goals to formalize community dialogues around police-community relations and collaborate with the Mayor’s office to produce policy briefs with best practices for future work. The webinar will include English and Spanish interpretation.
El webinario contará con interpretación al Español.
