Ethical Challenges and Trust When Using OSINT in Reporting

This workshop, “Ethical Challenges and Trust When Using OSINT in Reporting,” takes place during the first day of the East-West Center’s International Media Conference. Participants go on a deep dive into how open source information-gathering and analysis have evolved over the years and explore emerging ethical practices and challenges in today’s news environment. Facilitated by imagery analyst Allison Puccioni, the workshop includes an exercise centered around a real world OSINT ethical dilemma that participants will work through and discuss.
