Alliances for Climate Action Fellowship at the Local Leaders Forum

In these sessions, the ways national and local governments collaborate to implement the CHAMP Declaration’s principles for multilevel governance will be explored, as well as how these types of voluntary initiatives, led by NGO coalitions, help strengthen climate action and high-integrity policy planning in subnational governments. The efforts of municipal governments to improve waste management, reducing plastic waste and methane from organic waste will also be discussed. Finally, participants will explore the broader role of subnational governments in conserving key biodiversity in Latin America and around the world.
