Kelsey Paul Shantz is a program officer for mass violence and atrocities at the Stanley Center for Peace and Security. In that role, she also serves as a co-facilitator of the Peace in Our Cities Network and co-editor on an upcoming edited volume on urban violence and identity. Paul Shantz co-leads, designs, and implements the center’s work to prevent identity-based violence by developing evidence and bringing together global policy leaders, government representatives, civil society, and practitioners to disseminate effective violence prevention strategies.
Paul Shantz’s experience bridges development, peacebuilding, and security. Before joining the Stanley Center, she developed research on defense and security, global economic governance, and microfinance for think tanks and research institutions in Canada, the United States, and the Netherlands. She has an MA in international relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and an MPP from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, Germany. She also has a BA in international studies from the University of Evansville.
