Policy Dinner: Deepening Collaboration and Expanding Partnerships to Accelerate Energy Transition Finance in Asia
Invitation Only
Following the forging of the Glasgow Climate Pact at COP26, under which nations are called upon to phase down unabated coal power and inefficient subsidies for fossil fuels, there is a clear need to solidify the transition finance into policy and into action. Countries are devising new ways to cooperate in providing energy transition finance—leading to some of the most critical and cutting-edge mechanisms to bring about the energy transition. This dinner discussion, chaired by Manish Bapna, President of the Natural Resources Defense Council, includes an overview of transition finance initiatives, how participants can engage with transition finance, and proposals for enlarging participation in transition finance initiatives, particularly in Asia. The conversation will produce key takeaways on how governments, international organizations, and development finance institutions can deepen collaboration and expand partnerships to advance the energy transition finance agenda.
