Latin American Network for Genocide and Mass Atrocities Prevention: Fifth Focal Points Meeting
Invitation Only
On December 3 and 4 in Brasilia, Brazil, the Stanley Center, the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation, the UN Office of the Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide, and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host the fifth meeting of the governmental focal points who are a part of the Latin American Network for Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention.
The meeting will provide the necessary space for engaging in meaningful dialogue and advancing concrete ideas and proposals. It will also serve as a follow up from the previous meetings held in Buenos Aires (November 2013 and June 2014), Panama (December 2014), and Chile (May 2015). Each country representative will provide a summary of ongoing national programs pertaining to the Network’s efforts in each country and engage in discussion on the effectiveness of ongoing practices and national initiatives to prevent genocide and mass atrocities.
